HP withdraws 70000 batteries for notebooks

HP Company has announced the withdrawal of U.S. and Canada 70 000 batteries for laptops. The report was distributed organizations, Consumer Product Safety Commission in the United States and Health Canada. The withdrawal will affect the battery, some models of Series Pavilion, Compaq and others, as well as of the batteries that were sold separately. Users need to be removed and return the battery to the laptop HP Pavilion dv2000, dv2500, dv2700, dv6000, dv6500, dv6700, dv9000, dv9500, dv9700; Compaq Presario A900, C700, F700, V3000, V3500, V3700, V6000, V6500, V6700; HP G6000 and G7000, as well as the HP Compaq 6720s, which were purchased during the period from August 2007 to March 2008. These batteries are subject to free exchange.

According to HP, the decision to recall this batch of batteries from China due to the fact that they may overheat, causing a fire and even, potentially, lead to burn the user. At the moment, aware of two cases, ignition batteries, which resulted in minor damage without harming the health of the owner. All users of batteries, suitable for the description (the full list of results at Consumer Product Safety Commission), HP recommends to change them immediately.
