More China enterprises coming to Taiwan for joint procurement talks
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) on May 18 announced that the Association of Economy and Trade across Taiwan Straits belonging to China's Ministry of Commerce has organized three groups of China-based enterprises to visit Taiwan separately for procurement on May 31, in June and in July.
The group to arrive on May 31 will consist of large vendors and makers of consumer electronics, IT products and handsets, such as Haier, TCL, Changhong, Lenovo, Founder, Huawei Technologies and ZTE, and they may release orders worth as much as US$8-10 billion a year in total, TAITRA indicated.
Apart from those three groups of visitors, another group of China-based LCD TV vendors and makers will visit on June 1 to procure TFT-LCD panels mainly from AU Optronics (AUO) and Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO), with total value expected to reach US$2 billion, TAITRA said.
