Taiwan WiMAX CPE shipments to grow robustly in 2Q and 3Q09, says paper
Taiwan-based network equipment suppliers are expected to see their shipments of WiMAX CPE products grow substantially in the second and third quarters of 2009 due to strong demand from emerging markets as well as the launch of commercial WiMAX services by a number of operators worldwide, including Japan's UQ Communications and Malaysia's Packet One Networks, the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) cited data from Taiwan's Market Intelligence Center (MIC) as indicating.
Shipments of WiMAX CPE products by Taiwan network equipment makers are likely to reach 413,000 and 485,000 units in the second and third quarters, respectively, compared to 264,000 units shipped in the first quarter, the paper cited MIC data as saying.
