Acer has joined the Open Handset Alliance

Company Acer announced its entry in the Open Handset Alliance. Remember, this organization has developed a mobile operating system Android. It includes such well-known representatives of the mobile and telecom industry as Samsung, LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, HTC, ASUS, Huawei, Toshiba, Telefonica and Vodafone. In total, more than 40 companies, now joined them, and Acer.

That the company Acer is going to produce devices based on Android, has been known before. In late April, its president said that the team has tested this operating system. And now the company Acer announced that its first Android-smartphone will be released in the fourth quarter of 2009.
