China Mobile subsidiary to purchase network equipment from Taiwan
Representatives of China-based Xiamen Mobile, a subsidiary of China Mobile, have contacted a number of Taiwan-based network equipment makers, including Asustek Computer, Accton Technology and Quanta Microsystems, for the long-term supply of network equipment and CPE products, according to market sources.
China Mobile plans to build up wireless networks in 238 cities in China by the end of 2009, and the deployment of the wireless networks in Xiamen will be used as a model for the build-ups of similar networks, the sources noted.
