FREE SUMMER MOVIE SERIES HEADING BACK TO JEFFERSON CITY

Wireless Network Expansion Helps Economic Development, Public Safety.

Jefferson City, MO., – Warm summer nights at the State Capitol will come alive this summer with a family-friendly series of movies sponsored for the second year by U.S. Cellular, Jefferson City Parks and Recreation, the Missouri River Regional Library, and the Downtown Jefferson City Association. "Stars Under the Stars" movies start at dusk and various pre-show activities begin at 7:30 p.m. on the evenings of June 12, July 17 and August 7.

"This is a great opportunity for everyone in the city to connect and enjoy a little bit of Hollywood for free," said Mayor John Landwehr. "We saw big crowds at these movies last year and thanks to sponsors such as U.S. Cellular, the community can come out for the fun again this summer."

The free movies are open to all ages and families are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs, along with food and drink (alcohol is not permitted) and enjoy a fun summer evening at the movies.

Prior to the movie, "The Goonies" on June 12, people are invited to visit the U.S. Cellular tent beginning at 7:30 p.m. with their camera phones or digital cameras to participate in a Photo Scavenger Hunt. On July 17, "Singing in the Rain" will be shown at dusk preceded by a local theatrical performance and the opportunity to paint a giant mural in the U.S. Cellular tent. On August 17, families can enjoy storytelling time before settling in to enjoy "The Princess Bride."

"Our associates are part of this community and look forward to coming together to enjoy these movies with their families and friends," said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Missouri.
