LiMo Foundation has completed the development of specifications for its new mobile platform LiMo Platform R2

Consortium of LiMo Foundation, responsible for, among other things, the development and delivery of open platforms for mobile terminals, announced the completion of the development of specifications for the second release of its platform for LiMo - LiMo Platform R2. As expected, R2 will be on new devices, which will see the light in the fourth quarter of this year.

The composition of R2 supports specifications BONDI v1.0 consortium OMTP, which standardizes a set of device interfaces for Web applications and widgets. Specifications BONDI, together with the means to develop, will enable developers to use a variety of tools for building Web applications and widgets that will work on all mobile phones, LiMo R2 to support the launch of your Web applications. This platform will be the first in the world whose mobile phones will support the specification BONDI.

Platform R2 includes a number of improvements to the platform development tools R1, as well as for the development of new tools that support members of both organizations: LiMo and Open Source, to produce contemporary LiMo devices with the functionality of new generation. Key technologies that are supported platform R2, contain support services, based on determining the location of the user applications, working with multimedia, personal information about you as well as advanced security features.
