More Project Capuchin resources: Service MXPs, Service API Generator tool and tutorial
Sony Ericsson's Project Capuchin enables faster UI development and easier collaboration between graphical designers and code developers.
The new Project Capuchin Service API Generator tool enables you to create your own MXP files, supported by a tutorial pack, and nine new, ready made Service MXP files are also available for download.
The Project Capuchin bridging technology is the base for exciting applications where the UI presentation is designed in Adobe® Flash Lite™ and the data logic is provided by Java™ ME.
More Service MXP files
Macromedia Extension Packages (MXP) enable the import of new functions, plugins and resources into Adobe® Flash CS3 or CS4. Using MXPs, Flash developers can build applications in Flash and extract functionality from Java ME using ActionScript, for example date, time, alarms or local connectivity such as Bluetooth™.

New Service API Generator tool with tutorial
To create your own MXP files, under the "Java ME" tab on www.sonyericsson.com/developer/projectcapuchin the new Project Capuchin Service API Generator tool is available for download, supported by a tutorial pack.
This tool targets the API designer, who would like to do the following tasks:
Come up with the concept for a new Platform Service
Use the Service API Generator plug-in to create a JXML file for the Platform Service
Create a zip file with the Java stubs necessary for Java developers
Generate the MXP component using the pre-verified and compiled Java classes implemented by Java developer
The accompanying tutorial describes the API designer's position within the overall Platform Service development process and shows how to define new Platform Services APIs from scratch.

Announced on May 28, 2009 Sony Ericsson's new Aino and Yari phones are the latest to support the Project Capuchin API, making it 12 Sony Ericsson phone series that support this bridging technology.
