Taiwan market: Vibo increases handset purchasing plans for 2009 again, says paper
Taiwan-based 3G service operator Vibo Telecom has revised upward once again its planned purchasing of handsets for 2009 to 600,000 units compared to the 500,000 units projected in mid-May, the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) quoted company president Feng-hsiung Chang as indicating.
Vibo managed to secure an additional 100,000 new subscribers recently thanks to its aggressive promotion campaigns launched in college and university campuses in Taiwan. The company now has a total of 1.12 million 3G subscribers,Chang was quoted as saying.
