Tecom and AWB expected to land WiMAX CPE orders from Alvarion

Israel-based WiMAX solutions provider Alvarion has won a project from US-based Open Range Communications for deployment of WiMAX mobile communication systems in 546 rural communities across 17 states, with the project to be funded by the federal agency Rural Utilities Service.

For the project, Alvarion may release new orders to Tecom and Accton Wireless Broadband (AWB), its production partners in Taiwan, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
