Three of the Top Five Global Supply Chains Rely On E2open

E2open Customers Top the AMR Research Supply Chain Top 25 for 2009.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., -- E2open announced that three of the top five global supply chain organizations identified in the AMR Research Supply Chain Top 25 for 2009 - those at Cisco, Dell and IBM - use E2open solutions.

"Supply chains are a key source of strategic advantage for global enterprises who
manage them as demand-driven partner networks. Winners understand the need for predictable, flexible, and responsive systems that support profitable demand response, excellent customer service, and operational efficiency across all tiers of the network," said Mark Woodward, president and CEO of E2open. "We congratulate the winners, and are proud of our supporting role in enabling tightly-integrated demand-supply networks characterized by complete visibility, control and collaboration across external business processes."

According to AMR Research, the AMR Research Supply Chain Top 25 is an annual ranking that highlights companies that display superior supply chain performance, capabilities, and leadership. Since 1986, AMR Research has studied and fostered the revolution in supply chain as a professional discipline and as a competitive weapon for companies in the post-industrial economy. The governing principle of this emerging discipline is something AMR Research calls demand driven, which was coined in 2003 by the company and means "global supply chains built to serve customers with both operations and innovation excellence." The Supply Chain Top 25 identifies those Fortune Global 500 companies that have best demonstrated applying this principle of being demand driven.

Globalization, complexity, rising costs, and the need to respond rapidly to demand changes and supply disruptions are forcing companies to rethink old supply chain assumptions, with SaaS-based services being increasingly used to manage demand and supply networks. Companies that are removed from their end customers through tiers of trading partners are demanding better ways to manage external network processes across these tiers, augmenting their systems of record with SaaS-based systems of process such as that offered by E2open.
