«WITE» launch commercial service of a standard WiMAX 802.16e network in the city of Kemerovo
The new operator «WITE» announced that will offer consumers a wide range of services, among which are a fully mobile WiMAX: wireless high-speed mobile Internet access, virtual corporate networks, telephony, Skype, corporate mail, a flexible format of the network infrastructure, and much another.
The next phase of development of the WiMAX project will build a mobile WiMAX network in 25 cities in 6 of the federal districts of Russia: Siberia, Central, Volga, Southern, Ural, Far East. The first city to start a network company «WITE» Kemerovo chosen because, according to the company a good investment climate created in the subject of the Russian Federation by the current administration of the province and the governor of the Kemerovo region Aman Tuleev Gumirovicha.
Investor and principal owner of the company «WITE» is Gleb Fetisov, majority shareholder of the banking group «My Bank», a minority shareholder group «Altimo», Doctor of Economic Sciences, professor. In the future, the company «WITE» is planning to increase investment, especially in the Kemerovo region, as well as other regions of the Russian Federation in accordance with the selected development plan.
The supplier of equipment for this project was identified during the competition. The criteria considered by the characteristics of solutions provided, it complies with international standards, compatible with the design of other manufacturers and the possibility of an integrated service. The decision to start creating a network of WiMAX-based equipment Huawei in Kemerovo was accepted by «WITE» in July 2008.
