MEDIA ALERT UPDATE: Day 2 – Space Visit in Full Gear – A Comparison of Radio Communications
Motorola continues its celebration of the 40th anniversary of the moon landing.
Motorola was there as Neil Armstrong transmitted his famous words over a Motorola radio transponder. Forty years later, Motorola is still a leader in innovative mobility solutions.
Then
A Motorola radio transponder relayed the first words from the moon to Earth in July 1969. The transponder aboard the Apollo 11 lunar module transmitted telemetry, tracking, voice communications and television signals between Earth and the moon.
Now
Motorola’s APX two-way radio shipped this summer. It is lightweight, has intelligent lighting and is the loudest radio on the market. Its dual-mode functionality allows communication with different users on a single device, reducing the need to carry multiple radios in the field.
This multi-band radio provides instant interoperability in the hands of mission critical first responders. Motorola’s fourth generation P25 Subscriber is capable of multi-band interoperability in one radio (700/800 MHz and VHF), backwards and forwards compatibility (FDMA and TDMA) and integrated GPS for outdoor location tracking. Designed with mission critical technology, the radio amplifies public safety officials’ ability to keep the community safer than ever before.
Created with input from first responders, this rugged device is easy to use and allows personnel to focus on their mission, not the technology. APX 7000 radios meet current P25 public safety standards and are future-ready to support new technology and data applications. APX has already received great feedback from customer trials and is being recognized by the design and technical communities with the prestigious iF Product Design Award and the Australian International Design Award and the EE Times named Motorola “Design Team of the Year”.
The APX two-way radio exemplifies Motorola’s commitment to meet the voice and data demands of today’s first responders in mission critical environments by enabling interoperability and delivering rich communications anytime, anywhere and with unsurpassed reliability. Motorola is the leader in providing mission critical solutions that enable agencies to achieve interoperability goals, whether customers are upgrading an existing system or designing a new system from the ground up. Motorola continues to develop technology that’s second nature, so the focus is on the mission, not the technology.
