Taiwan market: CHT raises smartphone subscriber projection for 2009

Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has revised upward its projected number of smartphone subscribers to 160,000 by the end of 2009 compared to its previous projection of 110,000, according to market sources. CHT currently has a total of 100,000 smartphone subscribers.

Meanwhile, CHT predicts its net EPS to reach only NT$0.93 (US$0.028) in the third quarter of 2009. CHT's EPS for the first half of the year totaled NT$2.30, according to previous reports.
