The USB interface without wires

Japanese company KDDI R & D Laboratories Inc has announced the creation of wireless data transmission technology USB 2.0 signals via infrared. According to the company, this will do away with the need to connect mobile devices to your PC via cable.
Novorazrabotannaya technology converts electrical signal into an infrared USB 2.0 and sends it via the «USB-IR converter», installed on USB-host and USB-device. In doing so, the speed of data transfer via infrared can reach 1 Gb / sec.

In order for the USB interface to receive a response signal with the required speed (1.5 μс) converter is completed «virtual USB-ustroystvo/USB-host function» ( "virtual USB device / host function"), which generates a response. This signal is held without delay.

Currently, the company KDDI R & D Laboratories is engaged in the standardization of the protocol in the IrDA (Infrared Data Association), a valid sample of the developers promised to demonstrate at the Wireless Japan 2009 to be held 22-24 July 2009 in Tokyo.
