AT&T Announces Details of Tentative Agreement in Legacy AT&T Corp. Contract Negotiations

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced details of the tentative agreement reached with the Communications Workers of America in core wireline contract negotiations for employees covered under the CWA Communications and Technologies contract. The nationwide contract is the fourth to be reached with a bargaining unit representing the company’s core wireline employees and covers approximately 7,000 employees who work in locations across the country.

For the vast majority of employees, the three-year agreement provides for both wage and pension band increases in all three years. Wages will increase 3 percent in the first and second years and 2.75 percent in the third year. Pension bands will increase 2 percent inevery year of the agreement. And in the third year, for both wage and pension band increases, there is an opportunity for a cost-of-living adjustment tied to the Consumer Price Index.

The agreement also provides for continued good health care benefits with reasonable cost sharing. Health care benefits remain among the best in the nation, providing for fully funded preventive care and company-funded health reimbursement accounts that can be used toward any eligible health care expense.

A total of about 57,500 employees – roughly half of those covered under AT&T’s core wireline contracts – now have ratified or tentative agreements with AT&T. Negotiations are continuing in the other regions, including AT&T East (CWA District 1), Southeast (CWA District 3) and Southwest (CWA District 6).
