Electronic books are useful for ecology

Despite the rather high prices on e-books, pay for themselves, they have knigomanov very quickly, especially in our country where copyright issues are not too concerned about the readers and they would prefer to download free of interest to their work. In addition, scientists estimate that the further spread of such devices should have a positive impact on the environment by reducing the circulation of traditional printed books, for the production of which still have to cut down forests, etc.

For example, take the e-book Amazon Kindle. With its production is allocated approximately 168 kg of carbon dioxide. However, the potential savings could be much higher - 1074 kg of CO2 over 4 years, if the reader reads in a month at least 3 books.

As can be seen from the graph, next year the environment should feel a positive impact from the transition to electronic books.
