The number of registered SIM-cards in Russia reached 200 million
According to analyst firm J'son & Partners in July 2009 the number registered in Russia SIM-cards has grown to 199.8 million level of penetration in the whole of Russia amounted to 140,7%, and in the Moscow license area was 189.6%. Over the past 12 months the total subscriber base of Russia's operators increased by 24.4 million [13.9%]. On July 31, 2009 first place on this indicator in all-Russia scale has VimpelCom [7.0 million], the second place - MegaFon [6.7 million], the third - MTS [6.1 million].
The highest growth rate of subscribers among the federal and regional operators for 3 months demonstrated Tele2 [16,4%] and subsidiaries Sibirtelecom: Yeniseitelecom [5,0%] and Baykalvestkom [5,0%].
