Symbian ^ 4 will not have backward compatibility with the S60
Resource TamsS60 published an interview with David Wood (David Wood), a leading Symbian Foundation. According to him in the next few years the gradual transition from the S60 platform for Symbian ^ 4. Initially, an application designed for S60 5th Edition, will be compatible with the new operating system Symbian. Compatibility will remain until the version of Symbian ^ 3.
However, in Symbian ^ 4, as reported by Wood, Avkon API interface will be replaced by Qt, and compatibility will be lost. It is anticipated that the operating system Symbian ^ 4 will be completed in the second half of 2010. However, it is not yet clear when the market will be the first device based on it, but probably even later.
