AMD introduced a new platform for laptops and a series of Vision
AMD has made another attempt to expand its niche in the market of mobile devices. Today, were presented once two platforms for notebooks: 2009 AMD Mainstream Notebook Platform also known as the "Tigris" and 2G AMD Ultrathin Platform. Both solutions are a combination of the latest AMD graphics adapters from ATI. Tigris Platform supports playback of HD-video and read Blu-Ray discs, as well as three-dimensional games based on DirectX 10.1. It is composed of processors series Turion II X2 and Athlon, manufactured in the 45-nanometer technology, with speeds of up to 2.6 GHz and a cache size of 1.2 MB. Compared with the previous generation of the new platform provides better wireless connectivity and cost savings, the battery charge up to 25%.
Ultra-thin platform of the second generation AMD Ultrathin Platform is based on dual-core processors and delivers up to 2.5 hours of active use or up to 5.5 hours in standby mode. Under the Vision brand, AMD intends to deliver the laptops own production. By producing a series of devices identified three different levels: Vision Ultimate, Vision Premium and just Vision. Introduction of a new brand is designed to simplify the choice of laptop for the end user.
