Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications merged with the mobile unit of NEC
Japanese companies NEC, Casio and Hitachi officially announced the signing of an agreement to combine their units for the production of mobile terminals in the new joint venture, which will start its activities next year.
Recall that in 2004 the company Casio and Hitachi have formed a joint venture to produce mobile phones - Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications (CHMC), which operates to this day. Now, to their joint activities to join and NEC.
In a joint statement indicated that the newly formed company will seek to create competitive products as vnutriyaponskom, and on foreign markets, in an effort to increase brand awareness of each company.
After the merging of mobile units with NEC CHMC, a joint venture company will receive a new name - NEC CASIO Mobile Communications, Ltd. with an authorized capital at the start - 1 billion yen, where NEC will have a share of 66%, Casio - 17,34%, while Hitachi - 16,66%. After the capital increase, which is scheduled to take place before the end of June 2010, to 5 billion yen, the share of each of the company amount to, respectively, for the NEC: 70,74%, Casio: 20%, Hitachi: 9,26%.
The Board of Directors will comprise 8 people, 6 of which are from NEC, and 2 - from Casio. The representative director will be selected by NEC.
