Delivery of a successor to the Intel Atom processors will begin in the fourth quarter
On the Internet rumors already had to replace the existing models of Intel Atom processors on promising models at the end of this - the beginning of next year. Now these data have been validated. DeMutt Jeff (Jeff DeMuth), responsible for the marketing direction of Intel platforms at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, said that the new processor will be supplied to producers starting in the fourth quarter of this year. Model called Pineview, and assumed by Intel to install in the future netbook and nettop.
Mr. DeMutt declined to say when we can expect devices constructed on the basis of processors Pineview, but apparently it will not happen before the first quarter of 2010. The platform from Intel will be known as Pine Trail and based on the above processor. Exact information about its capabilities were not reported, but Jeff DeMutt said that the size was reduced by 70% compared with the previous generation, as well as it had been integrated graphics controller and memory. All other information, including previously leaked to the network, a company representative declined to comment on.
