Mobile Internet in Russia - research J & P
Analysts from the company J'son & Partners summed up in 2008 and the first half of 2009 the mobile Internet market in Russia. Here are the major figures:
• Revenue growth for 2008 by 87% to 20,4 billion rubles., For 1 half of 2009 [compared with 1 half of 2008] at 83% to 13 billion rubles.
• Growth of the audience for mobile Internet users in 2008 to 97% to 35.2 million, for 1 half of 2009 [compared with 1 half of 2008] to 126% to 46,3 million
• Increased ARPU for the year 2008 by 16% to 61.1 rubles, for 1 half of 2009 [compared with 1 half of 2008], this indicator has decreased by 14% to 53.1 rubles.
According to J'son & Partners Consulting number of mobile Internet users will grow to 62.9 million, and revenues to 29.3 billion rubles.
VimpelCom among operators of «big three» is the leader in terms of regions, in which networks are built 3G, despite the fact that the operator started to build a third generation network after all (September 2008). If we look at Russia by Federal Districts, given the networks of all operators of 3G - MTS, VimpelCom, MegaFon and SkyLink, a leader in the number of regions with 3G networks is the Volga Federal District (20 regions), the second place share of the North-Western and Central Federal Districts (as 16 regions), third place is occupied by the Siberian Federal District (11 regions).
