Acer unveils 1GHz Snapdragon-based smartphone supporting Android 1.6 OS
Acer has unveiled its new smartphone, the Liquid, which is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 1GHz processor and runs on Android 1.6.
The device, which is equipped with a high definition capacitive WVGA touchscreen, provides instant access to web pages, smooth streaming of videos or music, and instant response from popular mail, maps and search applications, Acer said.
The developer community can now take full advantage of these capabilities to bring to market innovative applications that demand raw computing power and superior handling of 3D graphics, Acer noted.
Liquid integrates various social communities, including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Picasa and Flickr in the address book, with real-time notification of status or content updates, Acer noted.
In addition, Acer introduced two lineups of Windows Mobile-based smartphones, the Acer beTouch and neoTouch, catering for diversified market segments.
The colorful Acer beTouch E100/101 (previously known as C1/E1) is designed for style-conscious consumers, while the beTouch E200 (known as L1) is for users preferring efficiency and immediacy, the company said.
The Acer neoTouch smartphone (known as F1), which features a slide down keyboard, emphasizes processing power, graphics capabilities and comprehensive connectivity, Acer claimed.
