"MTS-Uzbekistan" received permission to build LTE networks in Uzbekistan
The mobile operator MTS said that its wholly owned subsidiary of MTS Uzbekistan "was allowed the Uzbek Agency for Communications and Informatization of the use of available bandwidth from the company to build LTE networks in Uzbekistan. The company also signed an agreement with Huawei on intentions to deploy on the territory of Uzbekistan on the basis of LTE network equipment manufactured by Huawei.
The agreement provides for the establishment of project working group on implementation of technology LTE in Uzbekistan, as well as the establishment during the 2010-2012. pilot zone LTE in Tashkent. The agreement also involves the development of technical solutions in the construction of networks based on new technology to the existing network configuration 2G/3G. In addition, Huawei will hold a training for technical unit "MTS-Uzbekistan" on the basis of the existing network LTE company Vodafone.
