Samsung and LG showed clear display

Korean companies exhibit at an exhibition in Japan, their latest achievements in the field of liquid crystal screens. Including transparent displays. Wide dissemination of novelties is not likely, although in some areas, such devices are in high demand. Both the screen are constructed using organic EL materials. In general, they have similarities with OLED screens, but in those places where the latter showing a black color, these are transparent.

Conventional OLED screens are designed so that the cathode is made from opaque to visible spectrum of materials (usually calcium and aluminum). In transparent displays and cathode and anode are made of transparent materials. Also transparent fulfilled all the other parts of the screen. LG will demonstrate 15-inch display (pictured above), which is to be used as information boards in public places. His level of transparency is about 30%, but this is the first prototype. Currently there are no data confirming that this development will be launched in production.

Samsung is also showing a much smaller sample. Its display has a diagonal of 2 inches and a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. Its permeability also is 30%. Similar screens have interested developers of mobile phones as well, Sony Ericsson has officially announced the device XPERIA Pureness, which will have a transparent display.
