Neusoft and Nokia Siemens Networks create local powerhouse to address China’s growing mobile application market
Aim to strengthen existing joint venture to target new 3G business opportunities
Spurred on by the recent launch of 3G mobile services in China, Neusoft and Nokia Siemens Networks are enhancing their partnership to effectively address the country’s growing mobile applications market. The two companies will look to transform their existing joint venture - Nokia Siemens Networks Neusoft Commtech Company Ltd. – into a powerhouse for the development, sale and delivery of software and services in the mobile data and applications field.
“Together with Nokia Siemens Networks, we have delivered a variety of data service systems to the country’s leading mobile players,” said Liu Jiren, Chairman at Neusoft. “Now, with the launch of 3G, we are committed to continue to provide our customers with high quality products and services. The enhanced scope of our joint venture will enable us to do just that; assuring China’s subscribers a truly superior experience.”
The two companies will jointly address new and emerging market opportunities ranging from applications, security, service management, business support systems and customer relationship management, bundling their sales, development and delivery resources to strengthen the combined overall competitiveness of Nokia Siemens Networks and Neusoft. The entity is based in Dalian and will be able to build on the strong current basis the two mother companies have in the China market.
“We see a huge opportunity for 3G applications with 300 million new 3G subscribers emerging in the Chinese market over the next 3 to 5 years. Subscribers are becoming increasingly discerning and are constantly on the look out for new and unique applications,” said Zhang Zhiqiang, head of Greater China Region at Nokia Siemens Networks. “By enhancing our local competence and development capabilities in the mobile application sphere, we are arming ourselves to win in the new 3G world.”
