Changes in leadership of Samsung
Korean concern Samsung has announced significant changes in the management team: were appointed the new Director General, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Gizung Choi (Geesung Choi) was appointed new President and CEO of Samsung Electronics, while the current Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Yoon-Woo Lee (Yoon-woo Lee), will now hold the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Jay Lee (Jay Y. Lee) takes over as Chief Operating Officer, and Yu-Hwa Yoon (Ju-Hwa Yoon) - Chief Financial Officer.
Also, the reconstruction of the whole system was subjected to the business organization Samsung. According to the plan of the present leadership of the company, each of the existing units should operate as a separate company with its General and Financial Director. Previously, all parts of the corporation were divided into two groups: Digital Media & Communications and Device Solutions, but now they will be disbanded, and in their place will be 7 conditionally independent companies. Thus, the intended managers of the company will achieve greater autonomy units at the operational level and to reduce the hierarchical structure.
