Intel introduced a new generation of processors Atom
Company Intel today introduced its new processor Intel Atom, into which are integrated graphics controller and the controller's memory management, which will, according to the manufacturer, to reduce power consumption and size of the new generation of netbooks based on the new processors, bringing the performance to the level of desktop PCs.
The new Intel Atom platform will include a new chipset from Intel NM10 Express with low power consumption, as well as three CPU: N450 for netbooks, D410 - for PCs and entry-level dual-core - D510. All submitted chipset and processors are manufactured on 45 nm process technology, which eventually is expected to give 20 per cent reduction in energy consumption.
At the present time to produce new products based on the new processors have started more than 80 manufacturers, including companies such as ASUS, Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Lenovo, Samsung and MSI. The first system to a new generation of Intel Atom will have from 4 January next year.
