SkyLink build GSM network equipment to Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei and is willing to undertake a pilot zone of LTE in 2010
The mobile operator Sky Link on the results of the tender for the construction of GSM networks in 45 regions of Russia will use the equipment of two manufacturers - Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei: Alcatel-Lucent equipment will be used in the Central and Southern federal districts of Russia; Huawei equipment would be used in the Northwest , Siberian and Volga federal districts of Russia.
In accordance with the terms of the tender, Alcatel-Lucent will supply, installation and integration of equipment based on GSM technology at 1800 MHz at the next license area "Sky Link" in Russia: Belgorod Region, Bryansk Region, Vladimir Region, Ivanovo Region, Kaluga Region, Kostroma region, Kursk, Lipetsk Oblast, Oryol Oblast, Ryazan Oblast, Smolensk Oblast, Tver Oblast, Tula Oblast, Yaroslavl Region, Karachay-Cherkessia republic, Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Adygea, Republic of Dagestan (Makhachkala), the Republic of Ingushetia (Magas), Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria (Nalchik), North Ossetia - Alania, the Chechen Republic.
At Huawei equipment would be built network in the following regions: the Kirov region, Agin-Buryat AO Altai Territory (Barnaul), Irkutsk region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Novosibirsk Region, Altai Republic (Gorno-Altaisk), the Republic of Buryatia (Ulan-Ude), Republic of Tyva (Kyzyl), Republic of Khakassia (Abakan), Taymir (Dudinka), Tomsk Oblast, Ust-Orda Buryat AO, Chita region, Evenkiyskiy AD, Arkhangelsk Region, Vologda and Cherepovets District, Murmansk Oblast, Novgorod Oblast, Pskov Oblast Republic of Karelia (Petrozavodsk), Komi (Syktyvkar), Nenets Autonomous District.
As noted by Gulnara Hasyanova, CEO of Sky Link, delivered equipment may allow the simultaneous use of different technologies, for example, GSM / LTE. In 2010 it is planned to start providing services to GSM. In the future, the company is ready to build a 1800 MHz network LTE, if the regulator would be appropriate decision on the use of the principle of technological neutrality, and may initiate an LTE trial zone immediately.
Currently licensed territory "Sky Link» (CDMA + GSM) includes 78 subjects of RF. Services "Sky Link" in the CDMA network currently available in over 6000 localities in 36 regions of Russia. GSM license territory includes 45 RF subjects, there was now a strategy and business model of network CDMA + GSM, and also carried out preparatory work in the regions.
