Telecom who's who in Asia Pacific chose Huawei as the only telecom vendor to receive Triple accolades in Telecom Asia’s 2009 Readers' Choice Awards
Huawei named Core Network Vendor of the Year, NGN Infrastructure Vendor of the Year, and Optical Network Vendor of the Year.
Huawei was the biggest winner in the Telecom Asia 2009 Readers'Choice Awards recently when it became the only telecom vendor to receive three accolades - as Core Network Vendor of the Year, NGN Infrastructure Vendor of the Year, and Optical Network Vendor of the Year.
Organized by Telecom Asia, the awards were voted from over 56 telecom analysts, consultants and high-level telco executives across Asia Pacific in recognizing Huawei’s technology innovations and contributions to the industry.
"This year’s submissions were some of the best we have seen, and the response we received from our readers has been overwhelming,"said Mr. Joseph Waring, Group Editor of Telecom Asia. "As always, our readers surprised us this year with their selections across several categories and we thank them for their continued support and enthusiasm.”
In receiving the awards at a ceremony held in Hong Kong recently, Mr Bill Zhang Xinyu, Huawei’s Vice President of Asia Pacific Marketing expressed honor and humility to be recognized by industry peers in the region, as well as Telecom Asia’s editorial team.
Bill Zhang said winning the three awards collectively indicates that customers are recognizing Huawei as an end-to-end network solutions provider that possesses the broad expertise and deep networking technology understanding that knows what Asian operators want.
"Our business strategies have always been built around our customers'needs. The increased confidence in Huawei today is a testament to that. Huawei will continue to listen and work towards providing innovative and customized solutions that add values to our partners and customers."He said.
A good example of revolving network solutions around customers' was the initiative to help Bangladesh's Grameenphone to build a greener mobile network. The Huawei-Grameenphone partnership had not only transformed a legacy mobile core network in Bangladesh into an environmental friendly network and reduces carbon footprint, it also earned both companies the "Green Mobile Award" by GSMA in Hong Kong recently.
