Inventec Selects Red Bend's MSM Solutions
BEIJING -- Red Bend Software, the market leader in Mobile Software Management (MSM), today announced that Inventec Appliances Corporation, a leading manufacturer of smart handheld products based in Taiwan, has licensed Red Bend's vRapid Mobile® software for firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updating and vDirect Mobile™ software for device management (DM) on both feature phones and smartphones using the Qualcomm Brew platform and Windows Mobile platform. The Inventec OKWAP branded mobile phone models -- W316C and WG209 -- enabled by Red Bend's MSM solutions are currently available in the China market.
This year, 3G services have come to China, bringing with it a wave of feature-rich mobile phones. China's major mobile operators have required FOTA and DM in new handsets in order to ensure the devices can be managed cost-effectively over the air.
