SDXC memory card from Panasonic and Toshiba soon

Among the flow of news from the exhibition CES 2010 has passed almost unnoticed information that the company's Panasonic and Toshiba in the near future to present to the market a memory card standard SDXC. Models of both manufacturers use new technology that will increase the recording density and to increase the memory capacity by half, compared with the SDHC format. This data rate will also increase to the higher ranks of SD-cards. Panasonic and Toshiba indicates the writing speed at a maximum of 22 MB and 35 MB per second, respectively, which is enough to work with confidence with digital cameras or to directly download information from the Internet on a SD-card.


Panasonic has not indicated the speed of reading, but Toshiba claims about 60 MB per second. Also reported that the lifetime of new memory cards will be higher, and the preservation of information on them safer, because the controller will be able to correct errors in the read / write, thus avoiding losses.

As expected, the first in the market will map Panasonic. In February will come 64 and 48 GB versions, at a price of 600 and 450 dollars. Their release will mark the emergence of new camcorders this company. Toshiba is also present only 64 GB SDXC map spring. Its cost is unknown, but the manufacturer promises 16 GB and 32 GB SDHC card with the same speed reading and writing.
