TWM offers fixed-rate data roaming service in China via China Unicom
Taiwan Mobile (TWM)'s 3G subscribers will be able to have access to fixed-rate data roaming service in China via China United Telecommunications (China Unicom) under a freshly reached deal between the two carriers.
Under the deal, TWM's 3G subscribers will be charged fixed 1-day, 3-day or 5-day rates for the service without limits to use volume.
For sales promotion, a 50% discount for the rates will be offered from May 10 to October 31, 2010 during the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, TWM said.
In addition to China, the Taiwan-based carrier said the data roaming rates also apply in six other Asian markets through TWM's separate deals with seven local mobile telecom carriers: CSL and New World Mobility in Hong Kong; SingTel in Singapore; CTM in Macau; Maxis in Malaysia; Globe in the Philippines; AIS in Thailand.
