CHT to purchase 200,000 IP STBs from DinYen and HwaCom

Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) on July 1 announced the result of an open bid to procure 200,000 IP set-top boxes (STBs), with Taiwan-based DinYen Technology and HwaCom Systems each winning a contract to supply 119,000 STBs and 81,000 units respectively.

With a total procurement value of NT$580.6 million (US$18.1 million), the IP STBs will be provided for new MOD (multimedia on demand) subscribers, the Taiwan-based telecom carrier indicated.
