Samsung to launch LTE-enabled smartphone in the US in September, sources say
Samsung Electronics plans to launch its first LTE-enabled smartphone, the Samsung Craft (SCH-R900), in the US market in September as well as its first LTE/HSPA+ dual-mode netbook, the N350, in the IFA trade show, according to industry sources.
The new Samsung smartphone supports both LTE and CDMA networks and the company is expected to cooperate with US telecom service provider MetroPCS.
Samsung has been one of the more aggressive players in the LTE market with many end-user devices already introduced, said the sources, adding that the Korean company is also the only player with capability in both supporting chipsets and end-user products.
