Ericsson multiscreen TV solution wins IP&TV Industry Award
Recognizes power of solution for delivery of content to multiple devices
Meets consumer demand for ‘any screen, anywhere’ TV viewing experience
Multiscreen TV hot topic at IP&TV World Forum
Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) announced that the Ericsson Multiscreen TV solution has won the ‘Best Multiscreen TV Service’ category at the IP&TV Industry Awards 2011, making this the fifth consecutive year that the Ericsson team has achieved success at the awards.
Multiscreen TV was a hot topic at this week’s IP&TV World Forum in London, addressing a growing consumer desire to view content on any screen, anywhere. This presents a number of challenges to operators and Ericsson demonstrated key solutions for the management, packaging and delivery of content across multiple platforms to deliver a unified experience across devices for the multiscreen generation.
"At Ericsson we believe that a successful Multiscreen TV solution must provide the best possible experience for subscribers in conjunction with the most efficient operation for service providers," said Staffan Pehrson, Head of Solution Area TV, Ericsson. "Consumers are looking for a solution that can offer them the freedom to choose what they want, when they want it and how they want it; the focus needs to firmly be on the user experience. As the industry continues to explore how to deliver this next generation TV experience, we’re delighted that our unified solution for the management and delivery of video services across all screens has been recognized with this award."
The Ericsson Multiscreen TV solution addresses consumer demand for a far more enhanced range of services than ever before, such as greater control and interactivity, via its end-to-end capabilities to enable delivery of content to multiple screens and create new TV business models. From content acquisition through management, to network efficiency and multiscreen video delivery, the Ericsson Multiscreen TV solution features the industry’s broadest portfolio of solutions to enable operators (cable, satellite, telco and terrestrial), broadcasters and content owners to harness greater efficiencies, launch new services and grow revenues and provide their consumers the next generation viewing experience.
Now in their fifth year, the IP&TV Industry Awards are a symbol of recognition and respect in the industry. The awards were presented at a gala ceremony held in London on March 23rd 2011.
