Ovum predicts that the Windows Phone surpass iOS 2016

Analytical agency Ovum has published its forecast of the duo's Nokia and Microsoft in the smartphone market. According to representatives of agencies in the future this cooperation will change the operating system market mobile phones. Analyst Adam Leach (Adam Leach) has changed since then, as Nokia has signed an agreement to develop smartphones based on operating system Windows Phone 7 from Microsoft. For Microsoft, in his view the benefit is that it gets a partner that has the potential to be sufficient to bring the OS WP7 market leader. The risk is that other companies can opt out of direct competition with Nokia and do not engage in development of devices based on this operating system. In this development would in any case in favor of Microsoft. Mr. Leach believes that by 2016, WP7 will be an operating system for smartphones number two in the world, second only to Android, which by then will take a 38.7% market share. IOS precisely to this point, it will be bypassed OS from Microsoft - they will receive respectively 22.6% and 19% of the market. From other selected major players, he mentions BlackBerry OS, which in 2016 will occupy 9.2%. Roughly the same estimates WP7 Development in cooperation with Nokia gives and analytical agency IDS, which suggests that the market share of the mobile operating system from Microsoft in 2015 will amount to more than 20%.

Although such expectations are painting a very favorable picture for Microsoft, for Nokia, they look not so optimistic. Currently, Symbian OS is the most common in smartphones, but its share falls, and after 2012, new devices with this operating system release will not be Nokia.
