MTS has successfully tested LTE in Belarus
Mobile TeleSystems, the leading mobile operator in Belarus, announced the results of testing 4G LTE network in Minsk. 4G technology has fully demonstrated its efficiency and claimed data transfer rate.
According to the decision of the State Commission for the frequencies tested communications technology LTE began in late March and ended on May 1, 2011. The tests took place in Minsk in two stages: in the field and laboratory conditions. During the field test LTE-modem was connected to a laptop inside a moving car. Speed data transmission from the base station to the subscriber (download) accounted for 87 Office / s in the opposite direction (upload) - up to 24 ILO / sec. Under laboratory conditions, the rate of data transmission from the base station to the subscriber was up to 108 Office / s, and about 32 Office / s - in the opposite direction.
All in all tests been engaged five base stations: three outdoor performances and two were installed in the room - at the head office of MTS and in the Football arena, during the exhibition "Tibo-2011".
LTE (Long Term Evolution) - the name of the technology of mobile data transmission rate of which in theory can reach 326.4 Mbps. Radius of the base station LTE may be different depending on the power and frequency used. In the optimum case is about 5 miles, if necessary range can be up to 100 km. Connectivity of the fourth generation in the world have already evaluated the 16 countries, including Uzbekistan and Armenia, where services are based on LTE technology provides MTS. Another 140 mobile operators in 56 countries announced their intention to build LTE-networks. Active growth in the number of users LTE-forecast in 2012, when the commercial operation will have 73 networks: the end of the year, an estimated 40 million users of communication services of the fourth generation. The technology promises to become the fastest growing of all the previously introduced.
