Sky Link has upgraded 3G network in the Krasnodar Territor

Operator Sky Link has announced the technical readiness to launch into operation of its 3G network in the Krasnodar-based solutions Alcatel-Lucent CDMA2000 1x-EV-DO Revision B. Solution for 450 MHz spectrum band, which was first established by Alcatel-Lucent in Russia, will allow Sky Link to double the data transfer speed of its network.

Under an agreement signed in May 2010, Alcatel-Lucent has upgraded EV-DO network in Krasnodar and equipped the set of the operator base stations with the latest technology CDMA EV-DO Revision B (Rev.B). Replacement of two carriers Rev. A to Rev. B keeps downloading data at speeds of 6.2 Mbps (peak speed downlink) and transmit data at speeds of 3.6 Mbps (peak speed uplink), twice the speed available to the operator until the completion of the project. After modernization, the CDMA network will provide subscribers with Sky Link benefits such as higher data rates and, hence, more convenient access to a mobile audio and video content on the Internet with multiple devices (desktop and tablet computers, laptops, netbooks and other mobile terminals) .
