How to get your Free Nokia N950 Dev Kit
So we’ve seen the MeeGo Nokia N950 developer handset presentation as well as those lovely press shots.
We know it’s FREE but its developers only and not for sale, so how do you get your hands on one?
IF you’re SERIOUSLY interested about building apps for the Nokia N9 then carry on reading.
Jim has found a forum post at MeeGo forum that explains one of the ways to get your N950. http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=3597. Note the newer reference to Nokia store as opposed to Ovi Store.
The Nokia N950 is a platform available now for developers targeting the Nokia N9 and MeeGo handset apps in general. Technical details are available at http://developer.nokia.com/swipe
You can apply to a Nokia N9 Devkit at https://meego.com/community/device-p…okia-n9-devkit
Candidates must be community developers ready to start working on new or existing open source applications, to be published in apps.meego.com and the Nokia Store. Links to your current projects are relevant! Deadline for applications: end of Tuesday, June 28th.
If you have further questions please ask them here.
IMPORTANT: commercial developers are encouraged to apply directly at http://developer.nokia.com – thank you for your understanding.
PS: If you have encountered problems with the community developer device program submission or process, please post them in this other thread: http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=2901
Post says N9 devkit, BUT the package is N950 to use for targeting N9 apps. It says 250 loan units available. Only apply if you’re really going to make apps for N9.
