VimpelCom's shareholders elected a new Supervisory Board

The company VimpelCom announced today that on today in Amsterdam, the Annual General Meeting of shareholders elected a new Supervisory Board of the Company. At the Annual General Meeting was attended by holders of approximately 91.3% of the shares of the Company.

Ogi K. Fabela II, co-founder and Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, was elected to the Supervisory Board and the Supervisory Board unanimously appointed to the position of its new Chairman. Mr. Fabela was succeeded by Joe O. Lunder, which, as previously announced, from July 1, 2011 will take over as Chief Executive Officer of VimpelCom.

In addition to Mr. Fabela, the Supervisory Board include Michael Friedman, Kjell Morten Johnsen, Dr.. Hans Peter Kolhammer, Leonid Novoselsky, Reznikovich, Ole Bjorn Sjulstad, Ian Edward Tigisen and Andrei Baranov.
