DOCOMO and KT Share Content for Android Smartphones
NTT DOCOMO, INC. announced an agreement with South Korea’s leading telecom operator, KT Corporation, to share content for smartphones powered by Android™ 2.1 or later versions.
Starting today, DOCOMO has begun offering KT-provided content on “docomo market,” a mobile Internet portal in Japan for mobile applications and content. The initial lineup comprises 30 titles of Android content now popular in South Korea, including action games and puzzles, utility apps for translation, travel etc., and live wallpapers featuring supercars in action.
In South Korea, KT plans to offer about 20 titles of DOCOMO-provided content via its content and application store, “olleh market,” by the end of 2011.
The agreement is one of various commercial initiatives being developed by a joint-business committee that NTT DOCOMO, KT and China Mobile formed in January. The aim is to accelerate the sharing of high-quality content for enhanced mobile experiences in the companies’ respective markets.
