Nokia to launch first Windows Phone 7 device in Australia only in Q1 2012
Australian fans who are eagerly awaiting the launch of Nokia‘s first Windows Phone 7 will have to wait until Q1 2012. Nokia has just informed us this morning that they are working out a release for the Nokia Windows 7 Phone in Q1 2011 and that they can’t be more specific than that. In fact the exact words were:
We won’t be releasing a Nokia on Windows Phone until Q1 of next year. Can’t be more specific than that sorry!
The first Nokia Windows Phone is highly anticipated for the superior hardware quality of the Nokia Products working in tandem with the stylish, arty and robust Windows 7 Phone OS upgraded to Mango. Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop showed off Nokia’s first attempt with Windows Phone 7 codenamed “Sea Ray” which looked strikingly similar to the Nokia N9 running Meego. From the video it was also apparent that Nokia Sea Ray had a Carl Zeiss camera, a Windows button and was built like the N9. The Sea Ray is expected to ship with a 1 GHz single-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera, a 3.9″ touchscreen display.
