Vodafone Spain and RIM Launch the BlackBerry Bold 9900 Smartphone
Vodafone Spain and Research In Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) are launching the new BlackBerry® Bold™ 9900 smartphone, the thinnest BlackBerry® smartphone yet. The high-performance BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone features a stunning and iconic design that integrates an incredibly easy-to-use BlackBerry keyboard with a brilliant, high resolution, capacitive touch screen. This exceptional smartphone is built on a new, performance-driven platform powered by the BlackBerry® 7 operating system and it is designed to deliver the ultimate in communications, multimedia and productivity for users around the world. The new BlackBerry Bold 9900 will be available from Vodafone Spain in store next week.
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone is distinguished by its high performance, amazingly effective keyboard, brilliant touch display and beautiful design. It is crafted with premium materials including a brushed stainless steel frame that puts the finishing touch on a truly outstanding smartphone.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 integrates the new BlackBerry 7 operating system (OS). The BlackBerry 7 OS provides an easier and faster user experience with improved browsing, voice-activated searches, the ability to manage personal content separately from corporate content, as well as additional personal and productivity apps out of the box.
It is also the first BlackBerry smartphone to include built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications), a new technology that is enabling many new and exciting capabilities, including the ability to pair accessories or read SmartPoster tags with a simple tap of the smartphone.
The next generation BlackBerry Browser included with BlackBerry 7 leverages the dramatically improved performance of the advanced WebKit browser engine together with the powerful hardware enhancements found in the BlackBerry Bold 9900 to deliver browsing results that are up to 40% faster than BlackBerry® 6 based smartphones and up to twice as fast as models running BlackBerry 5*. Additional enhancements to the browser have also optimized HTML5 performance for incredible gaming and video experiences.
