Attention les joueurs! It’s Paris Games Week time!
With winter setting in, we have the best pick me up to make you forget about shorter days – a truly immersive and exhilarating gaming experience. What better way to kick things off than with today’s opening of the first day of Paris Games Week.
All the big players are expected to be in town, from giants like EA to local heroes and global gaming powerhouse, Gameloft. And we know, because we’ll be there exhibiting alongside them at the show with Xperia PLAY!
Xperia PLAY has come a long way since we launched it back in April, and we’re now close to having 200 specially optimized titles by the time Christmas comes around. We’ll be premiering some great new titles at Paris Games Week for visitors looking to get a sneak preview and a first hands on demo.
From Gameloft there will be the gritty cop shoot’ em up 9mm. On the subject of shooting and driving, there will also be two of the biggest sporting titles around in the world of gaming: Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 from Konami’s legendary football series will make its Android debut on Xperia PLAY at the show; and, for the first time on Android, the latest title from the most successful golf gaming franchise of all time, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 2012 from EA. This comes just ahead of the launch of another sporting great title, FIFA 12, also from EA and available exclusively to Xperia PLAY on Android for three months starting in November.
But it’s not just the gaming giants you can expect to see from us in Paris, that’s the beauty of mobile gaming! We’ve written before about some of the great developer talent contributing to Sony Ericsson’s Stand Out program. So in Paris, we will also be showing of some of our latest releases from a number of top local independent developer talents, like producer of retro shooter PewPew 2 Jean-Francois Geyelin and DotEmu, developers of a new Android version of arcade and console classic R-Type.
Don’t tell anyone I told you but I’d also keep an eye out for the world exclusive launch of INC from Orange Pixel at Paris Games Week if I were you! And with Halloween around the corner, there will also be a sneak preview of zombie horror game DOA, crawling onto Xperia PLAY later this year!
Sony Ericsson will be exhibiting Xperia PLAY and its new releases at Paris Games Week from Friday through until Tuesday 25 October. If you can’t make it out to Paris yourself to catch some of the action, then be sure to follow @XperiaGames on Twitter for all the latest information and news live from the show!
