Play.com delays Sony Xperia S, now arriving February 13
It’s bad news for those of you who have pre-ordered the Sony Xperia S from Play.com, as the phone won’t start shipping today as expected.
A quick look at Play.com’s listing for the handset reveals that the phone as been delayed until February 13th, although the superstitious amongst you may want to hold-off pre-ordering for now, as this new shipping date falls on a Friday. If you’re not put-off by the unlucky launch date, you can order the Xperia S now for £449.99 SIM free.
Still not convinced it’s the smartphone for you? Here’s a quick recap of its specs. Chief amongst its features is a 4.3-inch HD resolution touchscreen, skinned in Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS with an update to Ice Cream Sandwich on the way.
Adopters of the Xperia S can also look forward to a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 12 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, DLNA and HDMI and either 16GB or 32GB of included storage. As revealed towards the end of last week, the phone also boasts a UV reactive dirt-proof casing and a fast-charging battery pack.
