LG introduced a flexible plastic display based on electronic paper

The company LG Display has announced that the start of mass production of plastic displays based on electronic paper (e-paper). These screens are designed for use in electronic books, they display several shades of gray and have a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Feature of the new plastic screens is that they can be bent up to 40 degrees from center. Of course, such a tube, "the newspaper" is not svernesh, but some flexibility is provided.

Plastic screens are LG based on electronic paper lighter, thinner and stronger than glass equivalents. The thickness of the display is only 0.7 mm, weight - 14 grams. In addition, the screen can withstand a fall from a height of 1.5 meters without damage, the company said. According to LG, commercial products based on such displays can get in Europe is starting next month.
