The Seventh International Conference on Cognitive Radio-Oriented Wireless Networks – Crowncom 2012 – is coming soon
Crowncom 2012 will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, from June 18 to 20. The conference provides a venue for researchers to propose new solutions for technical, regulatory and techno-economic challenges related to cognitive radio.
The event is organized by the European Alliance for Innovation, a leading community-based organization devoted to the advancement of ICT innovation. It will be held at the Electrum Campus in Kista Science City, also known as the Silicon Valley of Scandinavia, approximately 15km northwest of downtown Stockholm.
About 120 university researchers and representatives from regulatory authorities and suppliers from all over the world will gather at the event to discuss and learn more about cognitive radio. This technology offers new and more flexible ways of accessing radio spectrum and sharing it between different wireless services.
Technical and regulatory solutions in this field can lead to more efficient usage of underutilized or stranded spectrum, as well as provide additional spectrum for future high-capacity mobile broadband and other networked society services.
Ericsson is one of the sponsors of the event, and Jan Färjh, Head of Ericsson Research, will be one of the keynote speakers.
At the end of the second day of the event, participants are invited to a reception at Ericsson Studio in Kista with demos on the theme ICT of the Future.
In a video on the Crowncom 2012 website, event chairman Jens Zander, Professor of Radio Communications at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, says: “We promise you an excellent program combining both technical and policy tracks.”
