Android malware to prefer the "carrots" and "ice cream"


Experts "Kaspersky Lab" summed up the virus activity in July, August and September 2012. According to the results of the quarter, analysts have identified, such as "gourmet" version-addiction malware platform Android. The trend of rapid growth of new mobile malware for Android has continued in the last quarter, so the company's experts sought to determine which versions of the users are most often the targets of attacks. It turned out that malware prefer "carrots" and "ice cream", that is, the version of the OS Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread ("Gingerbread") and 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich ("Briquette ice cream").
The platform Gingerbread had 28% of reflected attempts to install malicious software during the quarter. According to experts, although this system is not new, and was released in September 2011, it still remains one of the most popular, which causes the increased interest of virus writers. According to the company, 48% of victims of malicious users have version Gingerbread, which is set at 55% of the devices, and 43% - users version Android Ice Cream Sandwich, installed on 23.7% of devices.
